Where feel good ideas happen

Our mission:

Mindful Living

Thank you for stopping by!

I’m Mel a solo mum by choice from Greater Sydney, NSW, Australia.

This has been a space that has been home to my many passions over the years.

I’ve loved exploring, creating and helping others to reach their goals.

I’m in my mumma era now as a first time mum to a beautiful boy and here are a few other things about me:

  • I believe in mindful living and lifelong learning so much so that I embarked on a career change in my early 30’s to become a psychologist (I’m currently provisionally registered).

  • I still like to think of myself as a weekend adventurer even though hiking has taken a back step for now.

  • I have recently renewed my focus on my passions to bring the benefits of creativity front and centre, that’s where my new social identity Solo Mumma Made comes in - think makings, musings and mindful moments all in one.

  • That said, maybe one of these days I’ll finish the fiction novel I’ve written two thirds of. Maybe I’ll create for the little ones in my life. Maybe I’ll experiment in the kitchen more, or plan fun adventures. Whatever it is, I’ll go with what feels right at the time. And if you don’t mind, I’ll share it with you.

As I have liked to say over the years, this is where feel good ideas happen. This is still true today.

My hope is that my story might empower you to make your own ideas come to life.

To go with the flow of life.

To be authentically you.

Mindfully.

Take A Mindful Moment

This one is on us! Take your pick from our five complimentary audio-based exercises. Click to learn more about each one, or jump straight into our summary below, listen and tune into your next mindful moment.

Three-Minute Breathing Space

The goal of this exercise is to help you become more aware of what you are feeling this very moment.

Seated Meditation

The seated meditation is a method that teaches us how to draw one’s attention to a certain point - towards the breath, to detect when attention wanders, discover the nature and pattern of our thoughts, and to do so without judgement.

The Body Scan

The body scan teaches you how to recognise and experience physical sensations such as tension and restlessness in a controlled and focused way - one body part at a time.

Eye of the Hurricane Meditation

The goal of this exercise is for you to connect to a place of inner peace and calm. This exercise uses the metaphor of a hurricane to guide you to a state in which you become an observer.

Mindful Walking

The purpose of mindful walking is to develop awareness of each moment without having an end destination. By feeling our feet on the ground and noticing each muscle involved in each step, we begin to cultivate body awareness and focus.
